Stotesbury Hotel Info

From Ellen Stuhlmann: The room block reserved for the Visitation parents at the Windsor Suites is now sold out. Almost all hotels in downtown Philly are booked for 5/15 to 5/16. Last night I searched for available rooms and discovered that the Park Hyatt at the Bellevue and the Best Western Independence  Park are not sold out - rooms are available at these properties for $400++.   There are hotels at the airport with vacancies including the Sheraton. If you search Expedia or Hotels.com you will find properties in outlying suburbs.  Next year we will reserve a much larger room block! You do not have to book a room for your daughter; team reservations are already confirmed for rowers.

Rowers should arrive at every regatta two hours before the race start time, and rowers will leave AFTER the last boat is put away at TBC. When we travel, all rowers will watch all races, cheer for their teammates, load the trailer, meet back at the boathouse, and finally, put the boats away. Times are to be determined. Typically, races on the Anacostia start at 9:00. The Ted Phoenix (novice only) and VA States (Varsity only) are all day affairs.........

Visi Crew Handbook

The Visi Crew hand book is now available for download.

From the Coaches

All rowers MUST bring running shoes to every practice.

Team members need to be prepared for land training in case weather doesn’t permit us to conduct practice on the river.

2004 Wreath and Poinsettia Sale

Dear Visitation Crew Family:

As you know, we have a team with tremendous potential and our need for equipment continues, particularly with Visitation students’ growing enthusiasm and interest in the sport. Since every team member will benefit from new equipment and a qualified coaching staff, it is only equitable that everyone participates. As in the past years, each rower will be required to sell a minimum of 15 items or make a cash donation of $150.00 per rower.

Wreath and Poinsettia Coordinator
Helen Croghan

We are selling: price list and images

  1. Red and White Poinsettias @ $25.00 each.  Rowers will be responsible for pickup/delivery Dec. 3rd.
  2. Local Wreaths, 24” mixed green with pinecones for $25.00  Rower will be responsible for pickup/delivery Dec. 3rd.  OR
  3. Mail Order Wreaths. $30.00 Decorated with pinecones, red holly berries and large red velvet bow. They will be shipped across the country in December.  Mail Order Wreaths makes it easier for the sellers (rowers and parents) because there is no delivery responsibility!  These wreaths make great gifts for far-away family and friends!

Some Sales Ideas:

  1. Past customers
  2. Friends and Relatives
  3. Parents: Suggest to your boss a thoughtful and convenient way to say thank you and Happy Holidays could be the beautiful Mail Order Wreaths.
  4. Rowers: Talk to local companies that may like to locally support your team by ordering items for their employees and clients.  Keep in mind the local wreaths and Poinsettias will be delivered by the rower unless arranged otherwise with buyer.  So it may be best to promote the option of Mail Order Wreaths!

Buy Out:

If the rower chooses not to participate in the fundraising sales, she may opt out by contributing $150.00 by November 22nd. Such contributions should be payable by check to “Georgetown Visitation”. There are NO partial buyouts, that is, any rower who does not sell at least 15 items is required to contribute the full $150.00
